About The Position

This Saucier Cook position will support the Route 66 Diner and involves preparing food in multiple venues, ensuring that all food items meet standards for preparation, portioning, cooking, and presentation. The Saucier Cook will uphold kitchen cleanliness and promote a positive work environment. The role requires physical stamina, including standing for long periods and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The work environment may involve exposure to second-hand smoke and crowd noise, and requires flexibility for varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and at least 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain a food handler’s card.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items, ensuring adherence to recipes and portion control standards.
  • Create and oversee the production of all stocks, sauces, gravies, and soups.
  • Ensure excellent food quality and proper presentation of all food items.
  • Uphold cleanliness standards for all kitchen operations, equipment, and tools.
  • Promote a fun, friendly, quick, comfortable, clean, and safe environment for guests and team members.
