About The Position

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. As a Satellite Terminal Validation Engineer on the Amazon Leo Customer Terminal Team, you will work daily with electrical hardware, RF, antenna, silicon, and product design engineers, as well as software and operations teams in a collaborative environment. Your focus will be on architecting, integrating, and verifying customer terminal functional performance to ensure it delights our customers. The Amazon Leo Customer Terminal team is responsible for developing both outdoor & indoor devices, enabling customers internet service via the Amazon Leo satellite network. We own the entire process from early prototypes through mass production including requirements documents, architecture definition, hardware development, and all integration/verification testing.

Requirements

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with distributed systems at scale

Responsibilities

  • Define CT systems architectures and specifications
  • Design tradeoffs of various CT architectures including RF and performance simulation to support tradeoff decisions
  • Develop integration & test Software & Firmware for lab verification measurements.
  • Develop, maintain, and support customer terminal validation hardware and software
  • Proactive engagement with internal and external development partners on Systems’ hardware and software architectures and implementation
  • Ensure delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory and business requirements
  • Perform in-field test and validation of various CT architectures
  • Traveling up to 20% of the time, depending on project phases
