About The Position

Our work depends on a versatile and motivated Instructor to join our team to develop, organize, and conduct training and educational programs in support of Satellite Communications Systems (SATCOM) Maintenance Courses. Capable of conducting conventional knowledge-based classroom instruction, including system analysis and troubleshooting techniques to perform organizational maintenance on the AN/WSC-6(V), AN/WSC-9(V), and AN/USC-69(V) Super High Frequency and Extremely High Frequency Radio Groups. As a Training Specialist, the candidate would serve as an instructor to train sailors and review and analyze U.S. Navy Combat System technical publications and maintenance cards. When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for SCSTC courses and assessments at the organizational level supporting the dynamic teaching and training. Conducts assessment of the Sailors' abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures and thereafter provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical proficiency. Prepares, reviews and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides in support of traditional classroom teaching. Supports course reviews and curriculum updates by periodically conducting training gap analysis and providing formal feedback and recommendations for course improvement. Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas / watch station and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report. Establishes and reviews course content and objectives. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities. Maintains records of training activities, participant progress and program effectiveness. Maintains knowledge of relevant and current technologies, collaborates with external stakeholders and provides instructor leadership and mentoring as required.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of related experience
  • Communication, Teaching, Training Programs Skills
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Secret Clearance Level Must Currently Possess
  • Electronics Technician “A” School is a requisite.
  • Five (5) years of experience with the required system or process as either a maintenance technician or operator with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in an apprentice level training environment.
  • Of the five years, one (1) year of Experience as an instructor or facilitator in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Communications Area Supervisor, CSOOW or CSC highly desired.
  • Prior instructor duty with NEC 805A/9502 highly desired.
