Raytheon is seeking a SATCOM Helpdesk Support Technician to work in Colorado Springs, partially on a customer site and partially remote.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain a higher clearance level after start.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repair of SATCOM systems including two (2) years’ combined experience on Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) SATCOM systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting procedures, work instructions, schematics, diagrams, and assembly instructions.
  • Experience using hand and power tools and electrical/electronic test equipment.
  • Experience working in a military environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a local candidate.
  • Experience working with the Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), or Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal (GASN-T).
  • Active duty or reserve military experience is desirable but not required.
  • Experience working in the field, independently as a Field Service Engineer or representative a plus.
  • Experience with MS Office products including Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, and Visio.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field and 2 years relevant experience OR an Associate's degree and 6 years of relevant experience OR at least 10 years relevant experience with no degree.
  • Relevant experience includes military experience on similar complex SATCOM equipment.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance as part of a SATCOM helpdesk team.
  • Maintain, repair and upgrade EHF/AEHF SATCOM Systems.
  • Conduct site surveys, installations, integration, and acceptance testing of EHF/AEHF SATCOM systems.
  • Interface directly with the customer, work independently or as part of a team, and provide written status to management.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time both CONUS and OCONUS, interface directly with the customer, work independently or as part of a team, and provide written status to management
