About The Position

The Human Resources Director for Saltchuk Aviation Shared Services oversees the HR function for Northern Air Cargo, Northern Air Maintenance Services, and Saltchuk Aviation Shared Services in Anchorage, AK. This role is responsible for strategic planning, compliance oversight, and standardization of HR practices across brands. The HR Director collaborates with the Saltchuk HR department and participates in the HR Leadership Team to enhance employee compensation, benefits, and policies.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience as a Director of Human Resources.
  • Undergraduate degree in business, human resources, or related field preferred.
  • Professional certification in HR (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resource management and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Labor Relations experience, including bargaining and addressing grievances, strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the aviation field and highly regulated environments preferred.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills to communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to analyze key metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong proficiency in HRIS systems, preferably UltiPro.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Human Resources function for Northern Air Cargo, Northern Air Maintenance Services, and Saltchuk Aviation Shared Services.
  • Participate in developing employee compensation and benefits, employee relations, and general employment policies.
  • Recommend benefit plan design and oversee open enrollment and benefit strategy.
  • Drive new processes and enhance existing programs for continuous improvement.
  • Supervise the local HR team and lead the implementation of audit programs for compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Department on workers compensation claims and injury management programs.
  • Develop and lead required NTSB Family Assistance Program initiatives.
  • Coordinate all regulatory and contractual HR activities for NAC.
  • Represent NAC in collective bargaining and labor relations issues.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the local HR team for succession planning and professional development.
  • Participate in establishing and maintaining compensation philosophy and structure.
  • Lead annual compensation review and performance review processes.
  • Coach managers on handling employee issues and enforcing company policies.
