About The Position
Consult on and participate in moderately complex initiatives within Specialty Software Engineering. Analyze and resolve moderately complex engineering challenges. Collaborate with client personnel to meet deliverables and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Maintain and develop RHEL scripts and schedules to support additional needs. Provide SAS consulting assistance to approximately 8000 end users. Support problem determination, best practices, and coding techniques. Work with various data sources, including DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, MS Access, MS Excel, Hadoop, Dremio, Starburst, ASCII, EBDCIC, and CLI interfaces.
Requirements
- 4 years of Specialty Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
- Experience with SAS platform administration (SAS 9.x or Viya).
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux command line and file systems.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and ticket-handling skills.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and escalate appropriately.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to SAS Grid, VA, or Viya environments.
- Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, etc.).
