About The Position
Sargent Construction Academy at Sargent Corporation is designed for individuals seeking a stable career in the construction industry. This program offers a unique opportunity to start earning pay from the very first day in the classroom while also receiving hands-on training in the field. Participants will learn essential skills and knowledge that are critical for a successful career in construction, including means and methods of heavy construction, construction safety, underground utilities installation, grades and layout, and equipment operation. The program also emphasizes leadership and personal life skills, preparing individuals not just for the job, but for their overall career development. The training will take place at Sargent's Training Facility in Stillwater, ME, and at various job sites. Classes are set to begin in April and June of 2024, providing a structured pathway for those who are new to the workforce or returning after a break. Successful completion of the first construction season will lead to additional classroom instruction and hands-on training during the winter months, ensuring that participants are well-prepared for the demands of the construction industry. This position is ideal for those who may not have a college diploma but are eager to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
