About The Position

The SAR Imagery Scientist SME position is located at NGA in Springfield, VA, and requires a TS/SCI clearance. The role involves applied image processing and advanced analysis of radar imagery, with a focus on imaging radar physics, phenomenology, and phase history processing. The candidate will develop automated options to download and catalogue data, support mission partner activities, and create non-literal processing and analytic methods for intelligence reporting. Additionally, the position includes the production and exploitation of change detection products and the development of computer vision workflows to enhance GEOINT analysis efficiency.

Requirements

  • Eight years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in image science, remote sensing, earth science, etc.
  • 3+ years processing and exploiting LIDAR data.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, QTModeler, and ENVI.
  • Active Top Secret with SCI clearance and willingness to be approved for CI Poly.
  • Expert knowledge and skill in processing and exploiting SAR data.
  • Experience writing and maintaining Python scripts in ArcGIS.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training and experience in remote sensing or earth science.
  • Experience with IDL, Java, C++, VB, MATLAB, R, or other programming languages.
  • Familiarity with APIs.
  • An advanced degree.
  • Proficiency in Google Earth Engine, ESRI ARC Services, Tableau, and Web Services Development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop automated options to download and catalogue data.
  • Support mission partner activities to identify, validate, report, and minimize discrepancies.
  • Define, identify, develop, and automate repeatable methods for detecting and characterizing features and activities of interest.
  • Support the creation of non-literal processing and analytic methods for formal intelligence reporting.
  • Produce and exploit change detection products.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and progress computer vision workflows to improve GEOINT analysis efficiency.
