What you will be doing At the Clackamas bread plant, we believe that sanitation, performed at a high level of quality, is key to keeping safety as our #1 priority. You will be a critical part of our team, helping to maintain food grade level cleanliness throughout the facility. As an integral member of the sanitation team, you will be a very important piece of the building process to produce high quality breads, buns, and rolls for customers all throughout Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. Main responsibilities As a part of a Union environment, our team is looking for an individual that can be flexible during their probationary period. Specifically, with scheduling, you may be asked to work nights, weekends, or holidays, with appropriate notice. You may be asked to function within multiple areas of the plant.

Requirements

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You enjoy working as a part of a larger team to make an impact

  • You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
  • Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance are required

  • High School Degree or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing
  • Sanitation experience preferred
  • 6 months to 1 year experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work around large processing equipment in which chemicals will be used to complete the sanitation process
  • Disassembles, washes, cleans, and sanitizes all production line equipment at the end of the production week or after a changeover to prevent cross-contamination of product
  • Cleans walls, floors, fixtures (i.e., pipes, hoses, inlet and outlet nozzles, etc.), and drains within the department using established procedures
  • Washes all utensils used for processing and mixing of products
  • Will be trained and certified to follow sanitation procedures for proper chemical solutions use, and proper concentrations so that it is not harmful to workers or equipment
  • Checks cleaning records indicating frequency, duration, temperature, concentration, and use of final sanitizing product
  • Coordinates cleaning with maintenance & production for on time production start-up.
  • Understands and follows Sanitation schedules
  • Performs duties designed to control insects and pests within the plant
  • Cleans eyewash and replenishes solution as needed
  • General housekeeping in plant and office areas (taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, and mopping of the floors; cleaning up any messes or spills).
  • Keeps the building’s interior and exterior clean and orderly
  • Follows all safety procedures and participates in safety training.
  • Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and PPE.
  • Reports any injury, accident, or unsafe condition immediately to supervisor
  • Follows all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Processes); monitors and corrects violations in assigned area
  • Will be trained and certified in Lock Out, Tag Out process
  • Supports product safety, quality, and legality
  • Follows all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
