The Sanitation Technician plays a crucial role in implementing food safety and sanitation initiatives at the site and corporate level. This position requires effective leadership skills to manage sanitation associates, develop sanitation standard operating procedures, and ensure compliance with safety requirements during sanitation activities. The technician will also be responsible for training associates and maintaining high cleanliness standards throughout the facility.

  • Assist all areas in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMPs.
  • Prioritize work daily by identifying pressing issues and communicating with operators.
  • Promote a high-quality team environment through effective teamwork and self-management.
  • Perform detailed cleaning of large areas and manufacturing equipment.
  • Understand and implement sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Complete required documentation and assist the plant in meeting production goals.
  • Educate others on sanitation principles and hazards of cross-contamination.
  • Develop a detailed knowledge of the plant's process flow and sanitation protocols.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
  • Ability to work varying shifts and schedules.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Working knowledge of Safety, Quality, and Material Management Systems.
  • Ability to read and understand production schedules.
  • Experience in leadership roles within a sanitation or food safety environment.
  • Familiarity with microbiological and pest control in food manufacturing.
