About The Position

As a Sanitation Technician , you’ll be essential in maintaining a clean, food-safe, and well-functioning facility environment. You’ll work under the supervision of the Sanitation Leadworker and Supervisor to clean production equipment and infrastructure using Ecolab chemical agents, high-pressure systems, and modern cleaning tools. Your efforts help ensure McCain’s food safety and quality standards are met and exceeded daily.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong manual dexterity and physical strength for heavy-duty cleaning tasks
  • Willingness to work in physically demanding conditions, including at heights and in variable temperatures
  • Forklift and aerial lift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to stay visually alert while handling sanitation chemicals and equipment
  • Commitment to following all food safety, quality, and chemical handling procedures
  • Completion of sanitation training and willingness to participate in ongoing certification programs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures
  • Comfortable using documentation systems to record cleaning and safety information
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift 40+ lbs regularly
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, climbing, and lifting
  • Working at high elevations and in confined spaces
  • Frequent exposure to hot, humid, and cold environments
  • Regular use of power washers and cleaning equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in sanitation or food production is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough cleaning of equipment, ceilings, pipes, walls, tanks, and production areas
  • Operate power washers for extended periods (up to 65% of a 12-hour shift)
  • Safely handle and work with industrial-strength cleaning chemicals
  • Climb ladders and operate aerial lifts for high-elevation cleaning tasks
  • Accurately complete sanitation documentation and cleaning reports
  • Maintain readiness to work during scheduled factory shutdowns (night shift availability required)
  • Follow and promote safe work practices and McCain sanitation procedures
  • Work in hot, humid, cold, and confined conditions as needed
  • Participate in quality process checks and continuous improvement activities
  • Demonstrate flexibility by performing other duties as assigned by supervisors
