About The Position

Kent Quality Foods is a family-owned business operating in an environment of respect and recognition for a job well done! We are now hiring people for our 2nd shift Sanitation crew for our Grand Rapids Location . STARTING WAGE $16.75 an Hour + $3.00 Shift Premium + $1.00 Attendance Bonus + bonuses + overtime opportunity + full benefits + outstanding team environment. This position is responsible for carrying out and verifying sanitation such as cleaning equipment/Machines by the removal of meat debris and greases using high pressure hoses, etc. to ensure a safe and clean start up for the production team the next day. You must operate safely and in compliance with food safety and GMP standards. This position may work weekends; schedule is subject to change based on department and company needs .

Requirements

Must possess good communication skills, and the proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Willing to work overtime and Saturdays if needed.
Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment.
Must be able to frequently climb stairs.
In addition, must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs repeatedly.

Responsibilities

Ensures equipment is operating properly and safely.
Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of all equipment.
Maintains the entire work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Accurately document work performed (varies by task).
Assist in cross-training team members and co-workers as assigned.
Required to follow all safety requirements including L.O.T.O. (Lock Out Tag Out), and the proper use of P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment).
Must possess good communication skills, and the proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Mix and prep chemicals for sanitation activities in accordance with company specifications; ensure correct amounts are being used.
Willing to work overtime and Saturdays if needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
General work area cleanup using a shovel and squeegee.
Securely cover control screens and general control panels.
Effectively rinse equipment of meat debris and light greases.
Safely and independently mix chemicals for foaming process.
Adequately apply cleaning detergents to equipment.
Thoroughly rinse equipment of all cleaning agents.
Thoroughly perform a post sanitation inspection of cleaned equipment.
Perform pre-operational inspection of cleaned equipment with a designated quality assurance pre-op technician.
