Requirements

  • Have a good working knowledge of arithmetic and be confident in its use.
  • Be neat and consistent in whatever this individual does.
  • Be able to write clearly and legibly.
  • Be able to read and understand written instructions.
  • Be capable of strict adherence to company policies and yet able to use common sense in making many daily decisions required in this position.
  • Individual should be capable of adjusting his/her work schedule to the requirements of the department.
  • Individual should realize that overtime is sometimes required
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently or as a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use Industrial strength chemicals.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of sanitation experience.
  • Prior food sanitation experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar field.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Sanitarian Certificates/Training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand local regulatory requirements and Kerry policies related to health, safety and sanitation
  • Implement and maintain sanitation procedures and programs
  • Responsible for facility and production equipment exterior cleaning, including scrubbing and foaming.
  • Responsible for drain cleaning.
  • Responsible for collecting Salmonella and Listeria swabs.
  • Ensure upkeep and follow the Master Sanitation schedule
  • Perform sanitation requirements in accordance with company needs
  • Promote improvement efforts in sanitation
  • Ability to troubleshoot and be proactive when problems are detected.
  • Maintain documentation of sanitation compliance work for the facility.
  • Make suggestions regarding improved techniques for the control of plant cleanliness.
  • Adherence to Good manufacturing Practices.
  • Involved in follow-up on corrective actions for the facility as related to environmental excursions.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with chemical product suppliers to ensure timely and effective technical support.
  • Responsible for the glass and brittle inventory.
  • Individual should be able to operate forklift truck in a safe manner and use proper safety measures.
  • During periods of down time, individual is expected to do general departmental maintenance, such as painting.
