JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assuring that the manufacturing plant is cleaned and that all production lines are cleaned and properly restored for production the next day.

Requirements

  • High school education.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and work ethic.
  • Willingness to work efficiently and safely.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team setting.
  • Knowledge of and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Desire to produce a quality product.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using a variety of equipment including a power washer
  • Previous sanitation experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for effective sanitation on the various plant equipment and departments.
  • Must be able to follow equipment cleaning instructions as listed in the Sanitation Procedures Manual.
  • Must adhere to safe work practices & policies, compliance to our GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Must become familiar with cleaning chemicals by name, function and usage rate.
  • Janitorial duties of cleaning break room, restrooms, and offices.
  • Clean the manufacturing plant, including peripheral areas, such as overhead piping and beams, dumpster area, warehouse and cooler racking, and forklifts/pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to take production equipment apart clean and sanitize, then reassemble.
  • Must be able to set up production lines as directed (film set up, harp location, etc.).
  • Timely notification to other departments on equipment problems.
  • Must be detail orientated and be able to work independently.
  • Participate in pre-operational audits with quality on clean equipment and other audits as needed.
  • Vacuum pack trim cheese as needed, including working in cooler sorting, weighing, and recording cheese in trim log.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
