The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the sanitation processes and sanitation team members for a specified area within a QSI site. With a main emphasis on safety, this individual must ensure all equipment and surfaces in his or her area is properly restored according to USDA regulations. The supervisor must provide machine specific training to new associates in his or her area and provide continuous performance feedback to direct reports. This individual must be an experienced sanitor responsible enough to lead a group of hourly associates in achieving the same overall goal.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 1-2 years of verifiable experience in a supervisory role within the Food Processing industry or another heavy industry field required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Sound knowledge of steps to sanitary restoration.
  • Knowledgeable in industrial safety practices such as Lock Out/Tag Out, HAZCOMM.
  • Legally employable in the United States.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or some college courses preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the food or protein industry as lead associate or in a technical position preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee sanitation processes and sanitation team members for a specified area within a QSI site.
  • Ensure all equipment and surfaces are properly restored according to USDA regulations.
  • Provide machine specific training to new associates.
  • Provide continuous performance feedback to direct reports.
  • Ensure sanitation team members are adequately staffed, trained, and equipped.
  • Communicate unusual or special sanitation requirements to team members.
  • Perform inspections of equipment cleaned and sanitized by the crew.
  • Inspect and approve reporting and departure times of the crew.
  • Complete necessary reports and communicate effectively with customer personnel and government officials.
  • Maintain records of sanitation processes, deficiencies, and employee training.
  • Administer group Lock Out Tag Out procedures during sanitation process.
  • May be required to drive special equipment such as forklifts or scissor lifts.
