This individual will use independent judgment and be responsible for managing all operational functions at a given branch in the Sanitation department. This individual will provide oversite and direct the fence and yard support staff in each branch, coordinate fence jobs, oversee the cleaning of preparation of all restroom units, and support drivers with scheduled routes and times, have the ability to assemble, maintain, repair equipment, trailer frames, and accessories, and cooperate with both departments to best serve the needs of customers and co-workers at the assigned branch while maintaining a clean and organized working environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operations: Supervise employees in all daily duties to ensure utmost compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, and goals. Organize and conduct regular staff meetings. In direct oversight of Regional Dispatcher, pick up & delivery drivers, yard personnel, fence crew(s) and shop and direct oversight with, route performance, service technicians. Review of all paperwork including manifests, service route tickets, driver inspection reports, etc. for completion and accuracy. Monitor all service levels and deliveries to ensure the best efficiencies. Recommend measures to improve operational practices and quality of customer service. Work directly with other departments to ensure excellent and positive communication within region. Work with various departments to resolve customer service & delivery issues. Work with Sanitation Operations Supervisors at other branches to coordinate asset transfers. Maintain proper staffing levels to meet and exceed customer and branch needs. Interview, hire, promote, document performance, and train all new employees. Deliver ongoing staff coaching and disciplinary action as needed. Work to identify and resolve staff problems as needed. Process employee terminations in accordance with company policy and procedures. Analyze, track and report on operational activities such as, service levels, routing efficiency, labor & overtime, fuel, etc. within the department. Meet or exceed all daily, weekly and monthly budget numbers. Work with the Regional Operations Manager to develop and implement standard practices, efficiency recommendations, etc. Responsible for fleet DOT administration including, log books & record maintenance, etc. Review and approve e-time punches prior to submitting for payroll processing. Review and approve time off request forms and schedule time off based on operational necessity. Responsible for the administration of the company's safety program at the branch. Works with Safety & HR departments to ensure compliance at all times. Responsible for employee development & conducting periodic performance reviews. Ability to manage a budget and work with financial statements. Create and maintain a positive, safe and effective work environment. Ability to drive and operate variety of company vehicles. Pull trailers with company vehicles. Special and other projects as assigned by management. Maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record (if authorized to drive by Safety Manager). Must be eligible to be added to company insurance. Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
