Requirements

  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively.
  • Knowledge and understanding of cleaning methods in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment in a positive manner of respect, cooperation, and flexibility.
  • Pro-active and self-starting, working with focus on continuous improvement, and training team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership to the sanitation team; responsible for enforcing policies and procedures related to food safety and hygiene.
  • Ensure all team members are following the sanitation standard operating procedures to maintain the manufacturing equipment clean.
  • Maintain detailed records of all sanitation activities and maintain inventory of cleaning tools.
  • Supervise the sanitation team in safe working practices including chemical handling, PPE and OSHA requirements.
  • Understand the manufacturing process and equipment/parts design in order to ensure proper completion of equipment sanitation and efficient startups.
  • Problem solve with other departmental teams, with an open-mind and spirit of co-operation in a positive and professional manner.
  • Establish standards and procedures for work of staff; will be required to lead by example.
  • Assist in the development, organization, and participation of staff in departmental training programs.
  • Maintain records and daily logs.
  • Prepare periodic activity and reports for review.
  • Maintain and verify completion of Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Accountability for departmental stock and inventory control.
  • Periodically inventory supply and requisition and distribute supplies and equipment; place orders as required.
  • Inspect and evaluate cleanliness and physical condition of facilities and submit report to the Sanitation Manager of recommendations for corrective action.
  • Ensure supply rooms are stocked and maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Perform sanitation tasks on the floor as needed.
  • Be available if needed 24/7 for business emergencies.
  • Be flexible to perform any other duties deemed necessary by management.
