For more information, visit www.griffithfoods.com. Summary: The incumbent keeps all areas of the plant in clean and orderly condition. Sanitation Operators ensure all cleaning chemicals are used and dispensed safely. When cleaning the production equipment, Sanitation Operators ensure Griffith Foods standards are being maintained. Other responsibilities to be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic mechanical and painting skills.
  • 3 months sanitation experience is required.
  • Able to operate a forklift and successfully complete Griffith Foods Forklift training program.
  • Must be able to complete Sanitation Operator Training annually or as needed per the Alsip Plant Sanitation Operator Training.
  • Physical requirements include: Stand, walk, use hands or fingers, sit handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, hear and talk. Occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Can frequently move or lift up to 50lbs. occasionally to 100lbs. Specific vision abilities, distance, peripheral, depth and ability to adjust focus
  • Flexibility to work mandatory and voluntary overtime including weekends required

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily work assignments.
  • Operate riding scrubber and forklift.
  • Disassemble and detail clean manufacturing equipment in mixing and packaging.
  • Complete all monthly, quarterly, and yearly duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Participates in major project work that includes dust collection system cleanouts, overhead pipes in warehouse and manufacturing areas.
  • Complete monthly maintenance checks of all sanitation equipment.
  • Ensures that all process equipment is clean and passes ATP swab testing as part of the startup process at the beginning of the week.
  • Patching and caulking wall/floor areas.
  • Able to work from heights of 30 feet using scissor lifts or boom lift.
  • Operate recycling bailers.
  • Operate Gama jets for holding bins.
  • Proper cleaning of chemical spills.
  • Always keep plant tour and audit ready.
  • Calibrate chemical use.
  • Confined entry.
  • Lock Out Tag Out.
