JOB DESCRIPTION: The Sanitation Team Member is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the production environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. All assigned duties must be completed before the end of the shift while maintaining a safe work environment and following all Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 6 months of employment with one employer within the last 12 months.
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals, sanitation equipment, and high‑pressure hoses.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
  • Ability to follow strict sanitation and regulatory protocols.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to work in environments that may be warm, cold, wet, humid, or dusty.
  • Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize all areas of the production floor in accordance with USDA, HACCP, and QA pre‑operational protocols.
  • Use high‑pressure hoses, chemical cleaning solutions, and sanitation tools to properly clean equipment and production lines.
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment and lines as required for thorough cleaning.
  • Clean machines, floors, ceilings, lighting fixtures, fans, and remove trash as needed.
  • Obtain required training such as LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), fall protection, and PIT (if applicable).
  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Must be able to read and understand manuals, blueprints, plant paperwork, labels, etc.
