About The Position

The Sanitation Operator - Core is responsible to inspect, train and follow the American Dairy Association and the United States Department of Agriculture guidelines, the American Institute of Baking regulations, the Food and Drug Administration regulations and company policies. Responsible for sanitizing assigned equipment according to FDA and USDA regulations, quality specifications and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of experience working with chemical safety practices in an industrial manufacturing setting required, food manufacturing preferred.
  • Sanitation experience must be within the last five (5) years.
  • Maintains a continuous learning mindset and adapts quickly to new equipment, processes, and roles.
  • Demonstrates strong technical ability with a digital-first approach, embracing new technologies and accurately entering data.
  • Communicates clearly with all levels of the organization, follows instructions (written/oral/diagram form), and completes necessary documentation independently in English.
  • Pays close attention to detail, prioritizing product quality, safety, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Physically capable of meeting job requirements and consistently brings a positive, team-focused attitude to work.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, technical proficiency, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills while working independently or collaboratively to ensure effective and logical decision-making in diverse situations.
  • Demonstrates the physical capability to bend frequently and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), alongside proficiency in safely operating Powered Industrial Vehicles to support workplace operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in forklift, high lift, and articulated (boom) lift preferred or ability to obtain certifications required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, clean, and sanitize plant equipment and designated outdoor areas following strict food safety and GMP guidelines using power tools and cleaning chemicals.
  • Safely dispense and store cleaning chemicals, smocks, and gloves as required, while adhering to PPE standards and established facility guidelines.
  • Perform ATP testing, maintain accurate testing logs, and complete all required digital and hardcopy documentation for compliance.
  • Operate around large processing equipment, transport heavy objects (using appropriate machinery), and consistently work in wet environments with varying temperatures.
  • Participate in all mandatory safety and quality training, provide backup to sanitation and production teams, and ensure ongoing compliance with facility standards.
