About The Position

Oversee sanitation department functions and personnel. Ensure facility and equipment are cleaned in compliance with regulatory and Company standards. Must ensure efficient production and compliance with all company quality, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years minimum job-related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a manager role required.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office and preferably SAP experience.
  • Food Safety, PCQI, HACCP Certification or acceptable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and direct plant sanitation procedures, programs, and regulatory compliance, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and staged for production. Ensures compliance with all standard operating procedures.
  • Providing departmental training and development to optimize employee success. Communicate performance standards, including recognition/rewards and counseling performance corrective actions. Ensure the staff has necessary resources and capabilities.
  • Monitor pest control program, including third party service provider activities.
  • Directs and has full responsibility for Environmental Monitoring program.
  • Maintain and execute the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), partnering with operations to ensure timely completion and compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Develop operating policies and procedures, as necessary. Ensure documentation of plant procedures related to approving cleaning chemicals, cleaning schedules, and equipment readiness.
  • Conduct/coordinate required plant-wide training as required to ensure staff are involved with sanitation activities.
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of and compliance with Company Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices policies and procedures.
  • Review and assure appropriate knowledge of and adherence to Quality/GMP standards by all staff in assigned area.
  • Address and/or escalate and document all Quality/GMP compliance issues or concerns.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment.
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures, HACCP, OSHA.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies and ability to teach and model them.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging, filling, and process systems and roasting operations machinery.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
