About The Position

The Sanitation Manager at POM Wonderful is responsible for overseeing sanitation and janitorial operations at the Del Rey and Buttonwillow facilities. This role involves ensuring compliance with sanitation regulations, managing pest control, and supporting food safety initiatives. The manager will lead sanitation programs, conduct inspections, and maintain high standards for cleanliness and safety in the production environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in a food, beverage, or dairy production environment.
  • Management experience over a sanitation department is preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDA Food Code and local codes is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and with external partners.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to achieve high impact in an unstructured environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CIP systems and sanitary design.
  • Basic understanding of microbiology.
  • Ability to evaluate new cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of the facility to identify compliance and non-compliance of sanitation regulations and safe food handling practices.
  • Establish and enforce sanitation and food safety policies, programs, and regulations.
  • Assure food safety through training, temperature monitoring, and cleaning/sanitizing programs.
  • Ensure pest-free conditions through inspections and coordination with pest control vendors.
  • Monitor and control exterminating costs while maintaining an effective pest control program.
  • Oversee trash collection and equipment issues.
  • Maintain professional credentials and stay knowledgeable on current state and federal industry regulations.
  • Direct and/or indirectly supervise sanitation employees.
  • Assist with leading facility GMP and housekeeping inspections.
  • Verify and validate sanitation paperwork daily.
  • Maintain inventory of sanitation chemicals and supplies.
  • Develop and maintain sanitation programs and training.
  • Own corrective action plans around non-conformances.
  • Conduct simple root cause investigations around sanitation findings.
  • Manage sanitation budget and cost reduction efforts.
