About The Position

At our Appleton, WI plant, we have two parts of our sanitation team: a core team and a shift team. The Sanitation Lead - Shift will help lead the shift team by assisting with supervision, training and scheduling the team. The shift sanitation team is hands-on every day, moving equipment, and dispensing cleaning chemicals to ensure our facility (inside and outside) and appetizer manufacturing equipment is cleaned and sanitized to the highest standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience working in an industrial sanitation role with 1+ years of leadership experience required
  • Experience working with a forklift, boom lift, and high lift is beneficial – ability to work at various heights required
  • FSPCA certification strongly preferred
  • Maintains a continuous learning mindset and adapts quickly to new equipment, processes, and roles.
  • Demonstrates strong technical ability with a digital-first approach, embracing new technologies and accurately entering data.
  • Communicates clearly with all levels of the organization, follows instructions (written/oral/diagram form), and completes necessary documentation independently in English.
  • Pays close attention to detail, prioritizing product quality, safety, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Physically capable of meeting job requirements and consistently brings a positive, team-focused attitude to work.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, technical proficiency, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills while working independently or collaboratively to ensure effective and logical decision-making in diverse situations.
  • Demonstrates the physical capability to bend frequently and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), alongside proficiency in safely operating Powered Industrial Vehicles to support workplace operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring daily plant operations, prioritizing tasks, allocating duties to sanitation staff, and ensuring all processes and cleaning equipment are functioning correctly.
  • Communicating effectively with production supervisors to coordinate cleaning schedules and addressing any issues; completing required documentation accurately.
  • Training new and transferred employees on sanitation procedures and equipment use, maintaining training materials, and keeping training records updated.
  • Ordering necessary sanitation supplies, supporting conflict resolution, participating in all mandatory training, and adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines.
