About The Position

Sanitation 3 is a leading employee in the sanitation department. This role is a critical member of our operations team and provide assistance to the sanitation supervisor by delegating and directing workflow of team members. The sanitation crew leader is responsible in assisting sanitation supervisor in maintaining the integrity of product quality and food safety by ensuring that all production equipment, structural and storage facilities, restrooms, resting areas, parking lots, are in compliance with sanitary GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), federal, state, and local food protection standards, and Classic Salads programs. Also assists the production department as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or 1 to 2 years experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Must have prior sanitation leadership experience.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple English instructions.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Forklift license required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with sanitation standard operating procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Classic Salads Food Safety and GMP Policies, including Basic Policies (TRN-0101, TRN-102, TRN-103. TRN-104. TRN-105. TRN-1061.
  • Complete Classic Salads Standard Sanitation Procedures (TRN-0400), CS-SOP-01, CS-SOP-6037
  • Partner with department managers to establish production and quality control standards for food safety and sanitation when acting in place of supervisor.
  • Delegate work assignments as directed by sanitation supervisor and/or manager.
  • Assist sanitation supervisor in making sure employees have the required food safety, sanitation, and occupational safety training.
  • Maintains up-to-date status on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Participates in actions that involves or encompasses third party audit and food safety agencies.
  • Compiles required reports regarding regular inspection, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies according to company policy.
  • Coorditates company master schedule activities as assigned by the sanitation supervisor.
  • Support sanitation supervisor to comply with pre-operation inspection guidelines.
  • Assist on crosstraining sanitation crew in all sanitation tasks and responsibilities.
  • Report and provide assistance to the sanitation supervisor to investigate all accidents and injuries during sanitation.
  • Report broken or damaged equipment.
  • Responsibilities include: training employees, planning, assigning, and direction work, appraising work and report disciplinary infractions to manager.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, eye protection (goggles), face shield, gloves, slip resistant shoes, wet/rain suit, apron etc.
  • Able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Able to work under pressure and time requirements.
  • Able to work in a cold/wet environment (34-36 °F)
  • Cross-train in all areas.
  • Use a pallet jack manually occasionally
  • Forklift license required.
  • Use basic math and organization skills daily
  • Be conscious to reduce material spoilage.
  • Follow all OSHA requirements for lift trucks.
  • Complete a forklift inspection before use daily.
  • Follow adequate procedure to charge forklifts
