Fresh Texas is looking for a Sanitation Leader who will maintain the sanitation of the plant, machinery, and surroundings in compliance with SQF, FDA, and plant Food Safety procedures, coordinates and assigns duties to sanitation technicians, and ensures proper implementation and maintenance of all food safety and sanitation programs.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • An understanding of pathogens and other food contaminants is required as well as an understanding of modes of control of various sanitation chemicals and physical cleaning.
  • Leadership competencies that lead and inspire others – drive for exceptional results.
  • Strong quantitative skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to think critically.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.
  • Read and understand chemical labels.
  • Read and understand HACCP along with FDA and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to train, maintain and promote a safe work environment

Responsibilities

  • Must work with Supervisors and other department hourly employees in a way that is beneficial to all and conducive to creating teamwork within and to other shifts.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of factory sanitation and cleaning processes.
  • Works with Department Supervisor to maintain compliance of HACCP, GMP, and Personnel Safety policies.
  • Follows all safety guidelines set forth by Company.
  • Audits sanitation of lines including contact and non-contact surfaces during a change over, repairs, and start-up to ensure they are clean before the preoperational inspection.
  • Leads directs, and trains employees in clean-up and clean-up procedures in conjunction with the Supervisor.
  • Initiate and engage in line sanitation as necessary or appropriate.
  • Coordinates the training of all personnel at night on Food Safety and Personnel Safety training requirements conducts hands-on training of the SSOP and procedures outlined in the Master Sanitation training matrix
  • Prepares and distributes, through properly mixed and/or appropriately labeled containers, sanitizers, and chemicals for use in the plant.
  • As directed by the Sanitation Supervisor, conducts audits on the floor of all personnel as outlined in the program SSOPs
  • Conducts inventories of all supplies and chemicals for the Sanitation program
  • Conducts chemical titration of all chemicals used during cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Prepares appropriate reports, audits, and inspections as necessary to comply with SQF, FDA, and internal food safety programs.
