About The Position

The Sanitation Labor position at Tyson Foods involves maintaining cleanliness in the plant according to the Master Cleaning Schedule. The role requires completing various training, including Fall Protection Training, and safely handling cleaning chemicals. The candidate will coordinate with Maintenance and Production teams, operate high-pressure water hoses and air wands, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning equipment. The position demands adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and personal hygiene standards, with responsibilities including working weekends and holidays as scheduled, assisting with scrap traceability, and performing tasks in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Requires flexibility of wrists and hands.
  • Walking, bending, standing, and some lifting required.
  • Must be able to tolerate heights up to 70 feet off the ground on occasion.
  • Lifting of up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to move heavy objects (100 lbs.) with a mechanical device.
  • Completion of scissor lift, forklift, or pallet jack training as required.
  • Proficient in using high-pressure hoses (air or water).
  • Basic math skills for scrap reporting.
  • Strong commitment to safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Complete position posting signup sheet.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the plant per the Master Cleaning Schedule.
  • Complete Fall Protection Training and follow all related procedures.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Production teams for equipment setup and breakdown.
  • Safely handle and apply cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines.
  • Operate high-pressure water hoses and air wands for cleaning tasks.
  • Clean equipment following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain control and accountability of issued tools and equipment.
  • Complete the Sanitation Training Checklist within the designated timeframe.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and maintain personal hygiene.
  • Work every weekend and holidays as scheduled.
  • Assist with scrap traceability in designated facility areas.
  • Work variable shifts, including up to 12 hours per day.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
