About The Position

The duties of a Sanitation I employee are to disassemble, clean, sanitize, reassemble and test-run all elements of the line seven scaling and feeding system prior to the first shift start up. Responsibilities/Duties: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Minimum expectations include but are not limited to: Disassembly of the Triangle system. Cleaning of the Triangle scale system. Reassembly of the Triangle system. Cleaning of the “steep” conveyor. Cleaning of the Urschel slicer. Cleaning of the “Z” conveyor. Other duties as assigned (to be done on nights when the Triangle system does not have to be cleaned). Take responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product. Report all food safety and quality related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the QA department to initiate immediate action. Supervisory Responsibility: No.

Requirements

  • Required education is a high school diploma or equivalent GED; 1 to 3 months related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Receive the SSOP certification.
  • Qualified to use a scissor lift (training provided by OWS).
  • Qualified to use sanitation chemicals (training provided by OWS).
  • Qualified to operate the Triangle system (clean out, set up and test run-training provided by OWS).
  • The ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one or small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Able to perform mathematic operations using any or all units of weight measurement, volume, distance, and American money.
  • Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
