As a part of the Sanitation Team the Sanitation Worker will be required to disassemble all machinery prior to cleaning, perform dry pick-up of all inedible material on machines and floors, and complete any additional tasks deemed necessary by Tyson Leadership to complete the sanitation process. The Sanitation Worker must also mix, and prepare, all chemicals required to clean production areas (i.e., all sanitizers, acids, and caustics). The Sanitation Worker will be use high pressure hoses to clean production equipment. The TM will be required to reassemble all production equipment once cleaned. Following sanitation process, the TM will inspect and sanitize all equipment prior to production use. Lastly, this position requires team members must be able to read and write. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of the sanitation job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to wet and humid conditions and extremely cold temperatures. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places and at risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually low. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to stand during the duration of their shift. The employee is frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and able to control a high-pressure hose for long periods of time. The team member is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The Sanitation Worker will be required to follow all Tyson safety policies including Lock-Out Tag-Out but not limited to. The Sanitation Worker must wear all Personal Protective Equipment deemed necessary by Tyson Management. This will include hard hat, safety glasses, chemical googles, chemical suits, rubber boots, hearing protection, rubber gloves, and any other PPE deemed necessary by supervisor. The Sanitation Worker will be required to disassemble, and reassemble, all equipment to be cleaned and sanitized. The Sanitation Worker will also need to know how to set-up, and run, all sanitation equipment such as defoamers, mixing stations, and use of hand tools. Additional tasks deemed necessary by Tyson Foods Leadership may be assigned to the Team Member. The Sanitation Worker must follow USDA and Tyson Processing HACCP plan/GMPs/sanitation policies to ensure the food safety of our product. The Sanitation Worker is responsible for following all GMP’s and procedures (i.e., cleaning, preop walks/inspections).
