About The Position

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. The Sanitation Foreperson I supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in duties concerned with sanitation programs in food processing establishment by performing the following duties under the direction of the FSQA Manager.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience, preferably in sanitation programs at food production facility.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have the knowledge and skills required to work in a fast paced and challenging environment both inside and around the facility as well as receiving and cooling yard.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to work overnight but day and/or afternoon shifts may be required.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must have a basic understanding of computers and MS Office 365 Software, such as Excel, Word, and Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the cGMP, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Environmental sanitation program is preferred.
  • Experience with third party regulatory agencies such as BRCGS, AIB, GFSI, SQF, FDA.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates directly with Production Managers to plan sanitation efforts around production needs, in accordance with the factory SSOP Plan.
  • Inspects products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
  • Directs sanitation and production personnel in all areas of sanitation throughout the facility.
  • Directs cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  • Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
  • Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
  • Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
  • Routes reports to designated plant personnel.
  • Uses established guidelines to estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Performs inspections to determine adequate sanitation efforts are being made.
  • Maintains and monitors sanitation chemical inventory and concentration levels of sanitizing agents being used by personnel.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
  • Maintains inventories of supplies and equipment and places orders through the purchasing department as needed.
  • Trains and/or arranges for training of new employees. Maintains regular schedule of training updates for all employees.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
