About The Position

Drive and operate specially equipped heavy duty refuse truck and related equipment to collect refuse from Duke University facilities according to a predetermined schedule. Work Performed Drive and operate a heavy duty refuse truck equipped with automatic lift to take refuse from Dempster Dumpster containers and load and unload special refuse compaction containers as well as special construction trash receivers. Collect and disposeof refuse and waste material from University facilities. Review the work of lower level employees and assist in the training of new personnel. Follow a predetermined schedule of refuse collection. Follow a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenancefor all sanitation equipment. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Requirements

• Work requires ability to understand and follow directions generally acquired through a partial high school education.
• Work requires one year experience in operation of sanitation equipment.
• OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE N.C. drivers license and heavy lifting required.
