SANITATION DRIVERS
About The Position
The objective of the Driver I is to be responsible for all labor job activities but not limited to, recycling, refuse collections, building and yard maintenance, bailer operation; other activities related to operating and maintaining refuse collection vehicles, reading, and memorizing route maps, customer service, container maintenance, and other duties as assigned. ________________________ ________ DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties described below are indicative of what the Driver I may be asked to perform; other duties may be assigned: On-going Improvement Job Knowledge & Effectiveness Expectation to: Loads and hauls refuse. Maintain and repair karts and/or dumpsters. Prepare records of items picked up and items to be picked up. Perform minor repairs to trucks and equipment's used. Clean and maintain equipment and storage area. Cross-trains in other areas of Public Works Department as appropriate. Assists in other departments when needed. Supports the operations of the department by: Demonstrates ability to plan, complete tasks and monitor results within established deadlines. Effectively applying knowledge to solve a range of problems. Following department policies on a consistent basis. Performs job responsibilities consistently, timely, cost-effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction. Making decisions regarding the efficient and cost-effective way to perform job responsibilities. Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities and takes action consistent with available facts and probable consequences. Adjusts to changing conditions; accepts new duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude.
