About The Position

Block by Block is seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Ambassador / Trash
Truck Driver to support cleanliness and sanitation efforts in Old Town Pasadena.
This role combines street-level cleaning duties with operating a trash
collection vehicle to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for
residents, businesses, and visitors.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Ability to operate or learn to operate a trash collection vehicle
• Ability to work overnight shifts and weekends
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads (up to 50 lbs or more)
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in sanitation, waste collection, or street maintenance
• Experience driving commercial or large vehicles

Responsibilities

• Operate a trash collection truck safely and efficiently along designated routes
• Collect and dispose of waste, recyclables, and debris from public areas
• Perform sidewalk and street cleaning, including sweeping, pressure washing, and litter removal
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of alleys, sidewalks, and high-traffic areas
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
• Follow all safety procedures and local regulations
• Provide friendly and professional interactions with the public as a Cleaning Ambassador
• Report hazards, graffiti, or maintenance issues to supervisors
