About The Position

Sanitation Crew Members are responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing all areas of facility according to standard operating procedures and in accordance with quality standards. Teamwork, communication, and hazard awareness are important skills for Sanitation Crew Members. Performs prep, washdown, and cleanliness verification of food processing lines, including floors, food contact surfaces and tools following specifications, policies and procedures. Works cooperatively and respectfully, communicating effectively with teammates. Mixes and verifies chemicals related to cleaning and sanitizing according to usage and labelling requirements. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure product safety and personal hygiene. Complies with safety requirements for each task assigned, including PPE, LOTO, ergonomics, and fall safety as directed by Lead and Supervisor. Performs disassembly and reassembly of equipment for deep cleaning purposes using hand tools and GMP protocols. Completes allergen change-over cleaning procedures utilizing appropriate cleaning products, methods, and tools. Performs swabs following hygienic practices and proper technique, as trained. Completes verification records. Maintains complete, accurate, and legible written records. Understands and adheres to the concepts of the quality process. Supports facility operations during production hours by removing trash, recycling, and assisting in clean up and spill events. Operates foamers, forklifts, sweepers, scrubbers, pressure washers, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and other types of sanitation equipment. Completes daily and weekly grounds maintenance tasks. Maintains an organized work area free from obvious hazards. Adheres to reporting, First Aid, and crisis protocols in the event of accident or injury. Maintains punctuality, attendance, and performance. Promptly reports non-conformances, near-misses, equipment problems, and issues to the appropriate person in the chain of command. Adheres to best forklift safety practices at all times. Participates in emergency protocol drills. Attends and participates in all annual department and job-specific trainings.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Experience working as a Sanitation Tech, janitor, cleaner, operator role or working in a Manufacturing setting
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Good communication and handwriting
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools
  • Ability to work at height indoors & outdoors
  • Ability to work outside in varied weather year-round
  • Availability for overtime during raspberry harvest
  • Ability to pass in-house certification tests for operation of scissor lift, boom lift, fall safety, forklift operation, and LOTO protocols

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as a sanitation technician during raspberry harvest
  • Ability to communicate and understand verbal/written directions in Spanish & English
