About The Position

The Sanitation Commercial Driver plays a critical role in the operations of the city-wide solid waste collection services, as this position operates the refuse collection vehicles necessary for residential, commercial, and industrial collections. Duties for this position may include lifting and emptying heavy waste containers, inspecting, cleaning, and disinfecting vehicles, collection areas and collection containers; radio communications; and maintaining route documentation. This position ensures all working areas are clean and fully functioning while maintaining safety and professionalism in all aspects of daily work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1-2 years prior relevant experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have and maintain at minimum, a valid class B Arkansas Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing to work in an adverse physical environment (inclement weather).
• Ability to ensure that all contacts with the public and coworkers are courteous and professional.
• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner, wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
