The Sanitation Associate is responsible for performing routine and detailed cleaning tasks to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of a food manufacturing facility. This role supports compliance with food safety regulations by ensuring equipment, surfaces, and production environments are properly cleaned and sanitized. Sanitation Associates are expected to handle cleaning assignments, including equipment disassembly and use of sanitation equipment, while following all company and regulatory protocols. Scheduled hours for this 3rd shift position are 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM. The pay rate starts at $21.40/hr. Overtime Notice: Overtime may be required and can be scheduled before and/or after regular weekday shifts, as well as on weekends. Overtime may be voluntary or mandatory, depending on business needs.

  • Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, floors, walls, and other facility surfaces following established protocols and SSOPs.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for deep cleaning.
  • Use appropriate cleaning agents and sanitation tools according to safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure assigned work areas are consistently clean, organized, and ready for production.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including GMPs, HACCP, FDA, and GFSI guidelines.
  • Participate in internal inspections and audits to support sanitation compliance.
  • Report any non-compliance, contamination risks, or equipment issues to the Sanitation Supervisor.
  • Accurately complete required sanitation records, including cleaning checklists and chemical usage logs.
  • Maintain cleaning schedules and report any deviations or missed tasks.
  • Operate sanitation equipment such as foaming units, floor scrubbers, CIP systems, and pressure washers.
  • Properly clean, maintain, and store sanitation tools and equipment after use.
  • Notify the supervisor of any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure cleaning activities align with production schedules.
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay current on sanitation procedures and safety practices.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Maintain awareness of safety hazards and report incidents or unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Knowledge of sanitation practices in food manufacturing and safe chemical handling.
  • Ability to operate sanitation equipment such as floor scrubbers, lifts, or CIP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50lbs over an entire shift.
  • Ability to physically perform functions of repetitive motion, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and climbing.
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid environment when performing sanitation tasks.
  • Additional certification in food safety or sanitation helpful.
  • Previous experience in sanitation or cleaning in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
