About The Position

The Sanitation Associate is responsible for all activities involved in maintaining the cleanliness and food-safe environment of the processing facility, surrounding areas, and equipment. The primary purpose of this job is to perform daily sanitation of all processing lines. Receives direction concerning sanitation activities in conjunction with the company’s Vision, Mission, and Values.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Must be flexible with schedule, including start times and weekend work.
Must be able to work in a team environment and independently.
Manual and finger dexterity required.
Ability to work in a noisy environment for the length of shift.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Ability to reach above shoulder height.
Must be able to sit, bend, twist, stand, climb stairs/ladders, push/pull, and walk for the length of shift.

Responsibilities

Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to a safe workplace for all.
Ensures safety is a priority in day-to-day functions.
Ensures food safety and food defense in the plant.
Implements all GMP and HACCP procedures that relate to cleanliness, food safety, and pest control within the facility.
Maintains a supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaning program and in compliance with OSHA and FDA regulations.
Knowledgeable in best practices and safety, understands MSDS information, and properly uses personal protective equipment.
Follows and complies with all Good Manufacturing Practices.
Communicates effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments.
Proficient in routine preventative maintenance as well as changeovers.
Follows all safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations.
Attends all company training sessions and team meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
