About The Position

The Sanitation and Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Sanitation & Safety Specialists and ensuring compliance with public health laws and regulations. This role involves conducting inspections, training new inspectors, and managing inspection activities to maintain high standards of sanitation and safety in food service and lodging establishments. The supervisor will also engage with the public and various stakeholders to educate them on health regulations and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a health-related field, or an Associate's degree with relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and climbing.
• Two years of industry-related experience in hotel or restaurant management, operations, or public health.

Nice To Haves

• Food service and/or lodging inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Sanitation & Safety Specialists and Senior Sanitation and Safety Specialists.
• Monitor and facilitate training for new inspectors according to training policies and procedures.
• Direct and coordinate the workload of inspectors and maintain inspection activity data.
• Evaluate reports and take appropriate action based on findings.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and reviews of inspectors' work to ensure compliance with public health laws.
• Conduct field ride-alongs with inspectors to monitor adherence to established policies and procedures.
• Review samples of inspectors' daily work including inspection reports and activity reports.
• Establish and conduct performance evaluations for employees in the People First system.
• Work a flexible schedule to accommodate inspections at temporary events and during peak service periods.
• Educate the public and stakeholders on sanitation and safety regulations.
• Conduct investigations related to health or sanitation standards and prepare reports on findings.
