About The Position

Responsible for the sanitation and release of all manufacturing machinery. This ensures timely start-ups of manufacturing and adherence to HACCP regulations.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year sanitation/ janitorial experience preferred
  • Familiarity with HACCP (OJT)
  • SQF preferred.
  • Other Food Safety, Quality, Technical, and Regulatory Training as needs determine appropriate.
  • Understanding and compliance with all GMPs (OJT)
  • Understanding and compliance with all personal safety rules (OJT)
  • Position requires an understanding or food safety, quality, and SQF fundamentals provided through annual in-house and on the job training.
  • Hazardous Materials Training (OJT)
  • Ability to work with other people in a cooperative manner.
  • Ability to use discretion/judgement.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Perform basic Math (proportions).
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English preferred.
  • Basic mechanical ability/understanding.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Physical work includes climbing stairs, pulling hoses, etc.
  • Willing to work in a various-temperature environment
  • Ability to handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and routinely maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily cleaning of raw processing departments and the weekly, Sunday, cleaning of finished processing and packaging departments.
  • Meet company and USDA specifications by cleaning and sanitizing machines to ensure that morning production crews can start on time.
  • This may include tasks such as prioritizing, planning and moving quickly and steadily through sanitation duties.
  • Spray machine parts and equipment with cleaners, sanitizers, and hoses.
  • Mix cleaning solutions, abrasive compositions, and other compounds, according to formulas to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Responsible for mixing and dispensing hand sanitizers.
  • Pre-soak or rinse machine parts or equipment by immersing objects in cleaning solutions or water, manually.
  • Turn valves or handles on equipment to regulate pressure and flow of water, air, steam, or abrasives from sprayer nozzles.
  • Press buttons to activate cleaning equipment or machines.
  • Inspect parts and equipment for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
  • Perform lock-out tag-out on machines when working within machines to clean.
  • Responsible for performing job duties in compliance with all GMP’s and following all company safety standards.
  • Responding to special cleaning requests by supervisor.
  • May be required to help in other processing departments to finish daily production runs prior to beginning sanitation duties.
  • Assist in sanitation – facilities as necessary.
  • Inform Management of any Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes which have become noncompliant with specified requirements.
  • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Maintain accountability to Oberto Brands Food Safety and Quality Principles.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
  • Back up: Sanitation 2 backs up Sanitation 1.
  • Back up: Sanitation 2 is backed up by Production Lead.
  • Assist in other areas when needed
