The Sanitation Worker is responsible for ensuring that assigned production machines, machine parts, and areas are cleaned and sanitized according to established procedures. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe and hygienic environment in the food manufacturing plant, supporting the overall production process.

  • Follow safe chemical handling procedures.
  • Adhere to the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program.
  • Comply with chemical labeling guidelines.
  • Safely clean the production facility and equipment.
  • Assist co-workers and maintain a positive team environment.
  • Verify that assigned areas are ready for sanitation.
  • Dismantle, clean, and reassemble assigned production equipment as needed per Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).
  • Identify and report any equipment issues, reassemble, and test all production machines and equipment.
  • Follow proper sanitation steps to clean and sanitize areas of responsibility.
  • Inspect all equipment after cleaning.
  • Ensure assigned areas are ready for production after sanitation is complete.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned work area.
  • Experience as a sanitation worker in a food plant environment is preferred.
  • High school education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to work various shifts, including night shifts and weekends as required.
  • Spanish speaking is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English is preferred.
  • Basic arithmetic skills are required.
  • Experience in a refrigerated food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling procedures.
