About The Position

This position is responsible for the fabrication and welding of a variety of material using Sanitary TIG welding. Essential Duties: Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools, according to specifications. Repair and maintain metal equipment, piping systems, and structures of various size. Operate and maintain welding equipment. Developed understanding of contract plans and specifications, lay-out, blueprints, sketches and diagrams. Adhere to all safety procedures and rules; Identify safety hazards and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards; adhere to lockout/tagout procedures. Inspect others work for compliance, take any corrective action needed Other duties as assigned. Education/ Experience/Skills: High School Diploma with two 2-5 yrs. on-the-job experience and/or specialized training and education in the skills trade’s disciplines Expert working knowledge, skills, and abilities in the welding and pipefitting trade. Welding Test Coupon or ability to pass x-ray Weld Test Coupon within 6-12 months of hire. Solid skills and abilities in metal related work and blueprint reading Familiar with a variety of materials Basic recordkeeping skills and abilities Basic working knowledge of building codes Physical Requirements: Ability to lift objects weighing up to 180 lbs. (argon tank) and carry 40 lbs. up to 100 feet. Ability to pull weights up to 81 lbs. and push 105lbs. Maintain the grip strength required to carry objects including buckets and ladders. Must also show fine motor dexterity. Demonstrate ability to climb stairs, stoop, crawl, twist, squat and reach overhead. Requirements
