About The Position

Levy, a leading presence in the Food, Beverage, and Retail industry across 200 plus Entertainment, Sports, and Restaurant venues, is hiring a Sanitarian. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with all food safety, sanitation, cleaning regulations, and company standards. The Sanitarian will conduct routine sanitation audits and inspections of foodservice, food handling, and storage areas, including daily inspections of high-volume production areas and weekly inspections of remote pantries and staging locations. The position involves partnering with stewarding teams for proper cleaning, verifying logs, maintaining documentation, and supporting health department inspections and third-party audits. The Sanitarian will also observe staff practices, reinforce proper food handling, communicate observations, develop and deliver food safety training, and serve as a lead sanitation manager. This role acts as the point person for suspected foodborne illness incidents and prepares sanitation and inspection reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of back‑of‑house foodservice experience, preferably in a chef or culinary supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification required (may be obtained after hire).
  • Proven leadership, training, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation practices.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard office systems.
  • Comfortable conducting group training and presenting to large teams.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and event‑driven operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, cleaning regulations, and company standards.
  • Conduct routine sanitation audits and inspections of foodservice, food handling, and storage areas.
  • Perform daily inspections of high‑volume production areas and weekly inspections of remote pantries and staging locations.
  • Partner with stewarding teams to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of foodservice tools, service ware, refrigeration/freezer units, and hot holding equipment.
  • Verify completion and accuracy of required time, temperature, refrigeration, and freezer logs.
  • Maintain organized, inspection‑ready sanitation documentation.
  • Support and participate in local health department inspections and third‑party audits, ensuring strong inspection outcomes.
  • Observe staff practices and reinforce proper food handling, sanitation, handwashing, and glove usage.
  • Communicate sanitation observations and corrective actions to culinary leadership.
  • Develop and deliver ongoing food safety and sanitation training for culinary, service, and management teams.
  • Serve as lead sanitation manager, providing oversight of sanitation support personnel.
  • Maintain ServSafe Manager certification and serve as an exam proctor as required.
  • Act as point person for suspected foodborne illness incidents, coordinating internal and external communications.
  • Prepare and submit sanitation and inspection reports to Operations and Culinary leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
