About The Position

The Sanford nursing intern position is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience for nursing students, helping them develop confidence and competence in clinical skills. This internship facilitates a smooth transition into a licensed nursing role post-graduation, allowing interns to explore various areas of nursing practice that align with their career goals and interests. Interns will be mentored by licensed professionals, providing direct and indirect patient care while adhering to established protocols and standards.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited RN program (associate or bachelor degree).
• Must have participated in an academic clinical experience.
• Must be enrolled in a board of licensed clinical practice approved internship course.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a learning experience to develop clinical skills.
• Care for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
• Perform tasks of direct and indirect patient care.
• Support the activities of the department.
• Utilize appropriate population-specific patient care protocols and policies.
• Communicate and support patients effectively.
