About The Position

Flour Bakery + Cafe is looking for an exceptional sandwich maker shift lead for our growing team! This is a great position for experienced line cooks or prep cooks looking for leadership experience. Day-to-day Performance Expectations: Model of Hospitality: the ability to direct the counter & give feedback on best practices to engage our guests at Flour Help to maintain an overall positive team environment Provide open communication with your management about the bakeries on-goings, changes, the team, and ideas for improvement Demonstrate pride in the bakery by keeping up with cleanliness, and organization and/or assigning ceanliness and organization roles to your fellow employees Abilitykeep calm while working during a period of high volume sales Give clear communication to your teammates; including asking for help when assistance is needed Adept and knowledgeable with both our catering orders and our delivery system Exhibit proficiency of all sandwich station items; cold sandwiches, salads, grill, convection oven Maintain the organization and sanitation standards of the Flour sandwich station Maintain the Flour standard of quality (MOM test) for all items produced at the sandwich station Maintain proper communication with expeditor and team (call outs/call backs) Ensure that delivery and pick-up orders are clearly organized, labeled, and completed on time Ensure orders are prepared correctly for the customer as quickly as possible. Our goal is to have items prepared with-in 7 minutes. Assist and/or lead the training of any new sandwich makers Work with your team to train foh staff on sandwich station. Constantly looking at all food items being sold to ensure they are up to flour’s standard Ensure sandwich station is set up & ready for lunch each day Ensure that the organization of closing prep and pars for sandwich station are clearly followed as laid out and make changes to this work as needed upon direction from your team Help your fellow teammates as needed regardless of what department you work in. We work as one big team- Team Flour!

Requirements

  • Must have flexible availability to work afternoons and weekends, and desire to work full time.
  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a fast-paced food service environment
  • Must be able to maintain proper grooming and uniform standards
  • Applicants must be enthusiastic, hard working, possess strong guest service skills, and be comfortable working in a professional kitchen environment.
  • We are seeking self-motivated employees who work well in a fun, positive, fast-paced team environment with possibilities for advancement.
  • We ask for a minimum commitment of one year for sandwich makers, and unfortunately, we do not offer seasonal or temporary work.
  • Ability to problem solves using sound judgment under hight stress enviornments
  • Effective time management and delegation skills
  • Be prepared to be on your feet all day. This is a physically active role.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, sit, push, pull, reach, and lift < 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Ability to operate equipment such as ovens, grills, knives and other kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises, machinery, and at times, tight spaces.
  • Must be able to work around various aromas and fluctuating temperatures (at times, you could be in a freezer and/or hot kitchens, etc.)
  • We do our best not to cross-contaminate anything containing gluten. However, there may be gluten in the air at times.
  • We do our best to accommodate any staff allergy requests.
