About The Position

The Sander for Neck Mill at Fender Musical Instrument Corporation is responsible for the sanding and semi-finishing of electric guitar bodies in the pre/post paint production process. This role emphasizes operational excellence, collaboration, and quality control, ensuring that the guitars meet high standards of craftsmanship. The position requires manual sanding skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment while maintaining safety protocols.

Requirements

• 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good hand dexterity and ability to read and interpret work instructions.
• Basic knowledge of the correct use of hand power tools.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with woodworking and finishing skills.

Responsibilities

• Manually sand electric guitar bodies using up/down and counterclockwise motions.
• Perform quality control checks on production.
• Make minor corrections to irregularities in the guitar bodies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the immediate work area.
• Provide effective feedback to the Supervisor.
• Contribute to teamwork and adapt to changes in the work environment.
• Suggest improvements to enhance departmental effectiveness.
