About The Position

The Sandblaster at John Crane is responsible for operating the sandblast cabinet and booth, ensuring proper preparation and execution of sandblasting operations. This role involves maintaining equipment flow and throughput in a climate-controlled environment, adhering to material traceability requirements, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and understand work orders.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Minimum of six months related experience and one year of on-the-job training or equivalent combination.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs and perform physical tasks such as kneeling, twisting, bending, and pushing/pulling material carts.

Responsibilities

• Prep and sandblast parts according to work orders and specifications.
• Review parts for damage or defects before sandblasting.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area following 5S standards.
• Make accurate labor and time reports.
• Participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
