Bartelt Packaging, A ProMach Company provides best-in-class solutions for pouching and cartoning systems for the food and confectionery, beverage, home and personal care, pharmaceutical, chemical, and tobacco markets. Walk down any aisle in a grocery store to see the wide variety of packages produced on our equipment. Bartelt Packaging is searching for a sandblaster/painter to join our team. As a sandblaster/painter, you will sandblast and apply proper finish, according to engineering blueprints, to all types of steel used in the assembly of Bartelt Packaging machinery. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 3+ years of machine sandblasting/painting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to research and read engineering drawings using a drawing database program.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using two-digit numbers, tens, and hundreds; apply calculations to money, weight, volume, and distance.
  • Strong reading comprehension for instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Dependable, reliable, and committed to teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Receive work orders for parts that require finishing.
  • Interpret blueprints to determine required finishing (painting, protective coating, or other treatments).
  • Grind, clean, and prepare metal surfaces for painting.
  • Prime and spray machine frames and parts with finish coats of paint.
  • Inspect painted units for quality, ensuring no runs, sags, or missed areas.
  • Collaborate with paint vendors to ensure accurate color matching; mix paint according to specifications.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, including paint booths, conveyors, spray equipment, and hoses.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
