About The Position

Consolidated Pipe & Supply is a full-line supplier, fabricator, and manufacturer of pipe, valve, and fitting products and services for natural gas, waterworks, energy, and industrial sectors. Summary: Our company is looking for a Sand Blaster Operator to prepare and clean surfaces by using abrasive materials, such as grit, sand, or other blasting media, to remove rust, paint, or other contaminants. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of safety protocols, and the ability to operate power tools and specialized blasting equipment effectively.

Requirements

Previous experience with power tools or in industrial settings is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with grit blasting techniques or surface preparation is an advantage.
High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional certifications or training).
Ability to operate various power tools and blasting equipment with precision.

Responsibilities

Surface Preparation: Use grit blasting equipment to prepare surfaces for coating, painting, or further processing. This may include cleaning, smoothing, or roughening surfaces on metals, plastics, or other materials.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain grit blasting machines, including adjusting pressure, media, and equipment settings to achieve the desired results.
Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety guidelines to prevent injury and ensure the safe operation of blasting equipment. This includes wearing protective gear (e.g., gloves, respirators, face shields) and adhering to environmental and workplace safety regulations.
Material Handling: Handle and store abrasive materials and ensure proper disposal of waste materials generated during the blasting process.
Quality Control: Inspect the surface quality to ensure it meets required specifications, adjusting the blasting process as needed.
Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
