The Sanctions Case Research Analyst role is responsible for the review and investigation of transactional alerts against U.S. and other sanction lists and will deliver high quality work within strict delivery guidelines. The guidelines include successful delivery within agreed timeframes and quality standards.  The Sanctions Case Research Analyst is also expected to work collaboratively across teams within the same department and CCT Compliance to resolve Sanctions related inquiries timely and accurately. The Analyst will work closely with their manager and relevant stakeholders to deliver timely and accurate results.  The Analyst will work with internal information sources for information clarification, guidance, and/or assistance in resolving inquiries. Additionally, the Analyst may be asked to provide ad-hoc or time-sensitive Sanctions checks to meet the immediate business or parent needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; one- or two-years’ experience or related training in the finance or banking industry.
  • Current working knowledge in AML, OFAC and sanctions requirements.
  • Strong organization and time management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize between conducting thorough Sanctions reviews, sending correspondence internally or externally, case documentation, communication status of Sanctions review and working on department reporting as needed.
  • Strong Analytical, Research and Investigative skills to conduct thorough due diligence reviews on escalated transactions.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to work in high-volume, high pressure processing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Review accounts and account transactions with potential Sanctions matches to ensure compliance with sanctions.  
  • Must document investigations, escalation and resolution of sanctions matches for retention and audit records. 
  • Identifies transactions that have the potential to be Blocked or Rejected and provides first level review of transactions. 
  • Collects information and obtains relevant supporting documentation of Sanctions dispositions. 
  • Compares potential matches to the Computershare’s client list and communicates with internal departments and other financial institutions to gather information to resolve match. 
  • Work with Bank payments and wire clearing and corresponding with other financial institutions. 
  • Assists with the preparation and completion of regulatory and compliance documents. 
  • Assist with audit or regulatory examination process.
