Position Summary : We are looking for a part-time friendly and customer-focused Server to join our team at the San Antonio Winery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding service to our guests. We're seeking someone with a positive attitude, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to multitask, with a desire to learn and think creatively. Responsibilities include performing various tasks as directed by the supervisor and assisting with any duties within the Restaurant/Winery to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Proven work experience as a Server, Waiter or Waitress is required.
  • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certified.
  • Must have food handlers’ certificate upon hire.
  • Must be willing to work weekends.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Must adhere to proper hygiene and cleanliness practices at all times.

  • Prior experience in food and beverage.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort customers to their tables
  • Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
  • Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
  • Inform customers about the day’s specials
  • Up-sell additional products wine Etc. when appropriate
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders
  • Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
  • Serve food and drink orders
  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
  • Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
  • Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
  • Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes to the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties)
  • Follow all relevant health department regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests
  • Attentiveness and patience for customers
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Active listening and effective communication skills
