About The Position

The position involves identifying drill holes that require sampling from the Drill Pattern and coordinating work schedules with dispatch and/or drilling and blasting teams. The role requires obtaining representative samples according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring samples are taken from equally spaced locations within the drill hole, and that the minimum sample weight is achieved. Proper labeling of samples is essential. The position also includes assisting with quality control by repeating the sampling process for identified duplicate sample locations and ensuring both original and duplicate samples are correctly labeled for laboratory staff. Additionally, the role involves transporting and delivering all samples to the assay laboratory in a timely manner, performing entry-level analytical laboratory tasks, providing technical support to ore control and surveying staff, verifying equipment functionality, cleaning sampling equipment after use, and performing other duties as required.

Requirements

• One (1) year experience in relevant areas.
• Knowledge of sampling equipment, processes, methods, and techniques.
• Ability to conduct preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling daily work assignments.
• Skill in safely using, maintaining, and repairing specialized equipment.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of site processes, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Proficient in using a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Verify that equipment is functional and operating properly.
• Clean all sampling equipment after each sample has been taken.
• Perform other duties as required.
